the monday question (v. 1.1)

i like to collect quotes and keep them written down either in my journal or a book saved for the sole purpose of quote-collecting.

i like going back and re-reading them from time to time to serve as a reminder of a truth and/or to put a smile on my face.

do you have a favorite quote that has stuck with you? it can be in song, speech, or whatever…

a few of my favorite:

“dreams are the answers to questions that we haven’t yet figured out how to ask.”

“they say when you talk to God it’s prayer, but when God talks to you, it’s schizophrenia.”

[both from fox mulder on the x files]

“sometimes, all we are shown is our next step.
that next step is always the only step we need to take.”
–julia cameron

“the intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
we have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
–albert einstein

“for thou only art holy,
thou only art the lord . . .
and we are drowned.”
–annie dillard

“…trouble is i’m so exhausted
the plot, you see, i think i’ve lost it
i need the grace to find what can’t be found”
–linford detweiler

your turn…
