pressing forward

spent some good time writing my short story yesterday afternoon and i’m happy with the results.  makes me [almost] glad that i lost the previous work i had done, because i do not think that what i wrote yesterday would have ever found its way on to paper had i not lost the previous work.

something wonderful born out of loss.  beauty from ashes.  mmm…

i’m at about seven hundred words in total at this point in time.  to make it to my goal of between seven to ten thousand words, i need to average at least two hundred and fifty words a day.

all that to say, i’m  bit behind.  but i’m not worried about it.  i’ve been running on a ‘good feeling’ with where this story is going and how it is unfolding.  slow and steady, i’ll get there.  slow and steady.

i’m not sure if i will be able to post the entire story in one blog entry [does anyone know if there is a word limit to these blogs?] but if not, i’ll post it in “chapter” form as soon as i can figure out where would be good places to split it up.

march first – that’s the date – the date that i will post the short story.  feedback/comments/praise/criticism is always appreciated and welcomed, of course.

onward and upward.

traveling mercies,

  1. I look forward to reading it!!  It’s encouraging to me to see you challenging yourself this way…I totally identify with Calvin; I do usually need to be in a certain frame of mind to write creatively and somehow I manage to put off being in that mood unless there’s an impending deadline.
