the world can wait

Legros - solitude (paysage)

things in my life have been quiet lately.  and you know what?  that’s ok.  rest for the body, soul, and mind is good – it’s like living in the eye of a storm – calm surrounded by chaos on all sides.

late nights.  honest conversations.  all-you-can-eat buffets with some of the best people in the world. films that make you think in ways you’ve never thought before.  home-cooked meals made from (mostly) scratch. (these moments have crept up on me like a welcomed surprise, catching me off guard, but thankfully so).

so fade to black and white now
roll the movie of my life
inside of my head
’cause like all true believers
i am truly skeptical
of all that i have said

tonight when i go home, i will curl up and watch a film with my cat (probably something with clint eastood in it – she told me once that he’s her favorite actor). we’ll create our own little place of solitude, if only for a few hours.

peace amongst the storms of life: yes.  yes.  yes.

traveling mercies, dear friends.
